Congress Playing Cards 2 Unused Decks Cel-U-Tone Finish Vintage Box Floral Fruit Exquisite Decorative Box of 2 Decks of CONGRESS PLAYING CARDS with CEL-U-TONE FINISH, in VINTAGE VELOUR covered Hardboard BOX w/Pullout Tray DESCRIPTION: This features the set of 2 standard decks in different floral, berry & bloom patterns. One deck is still in the definitely unopened package with the South Carolina 10 Cent Revenue Tax attached. The other deck while unused has broken paper on it with the same revenue stamp attached. Since this paper was loose, we investigated to be certain the deck was complete. It has all the playing cards with one joker. We did not open the sealed package since it should be as sent from the factory. The box shows its age as a paper product with the South Carolina 10 cent Tax Revenue stamp used between the years of 1929-1940 . CONDITION: The condition of this card set is appropriate for an unused paper product produced in the 1929-1940 time period. DIMENSIONS: The box is 5″ by 3 3/4″ with a height of 1″. HISTORY/MARKS: This was manufactured by U.S. Playing Card Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio as Congress Playing Cards. Congress cards are available in a wide assortment of pictorial back designs and are typically housed in a velour covered box with a pull-out tray. Each Congress deck consists of the 52 standard cards and two jokers (which feature an image of the United States Capitol). We find only one joker in the opened deck. #G1665 is on the Ace of Spades. The South Carolina revenue tax stamps date this to the 1929-1940 time period. Please view all pictures carefully as they are part of the description. The stand was used as a photo prop and is not part of this listing.
