eBay *NOTE TO EBAY – THESE BOXES ARE EMPTY AND DO NOT CONTAIN ANY RESTRICTED AMMUNITION COMPONENTS* Up for your consideration is a set of two empty reproduction M1911 .45 ACP early war 20 round ammunition cartons with a FRANKFORD ARSENAL (FA) CALIBER .45 M1921 DUMMY CARTRIDGE label.. The earliest official .45 caliber dummy cartridges used for automatic pistols and revolvers were produced by Frankford Arsenal towards the end of WWI, and was designated the “Cal. .45 Dummy Cartridge, Model of 1918”. After WWI, the need for a “range dummy” to prevent flinching and to provide proper trigger pull practice became obvious. Then, in 1921, the Ordnance Department decided to adopt a dummy cartridge which would fulfill the requirements of inspection, functioning, training and range work. The new dummy cartridge was adopted as the “Cal. .45 Dummy Cartridge, Model 1921”, and it remained in use until the M1911 pistol was removed from service. The M1921 Dummy cartridges were shipped in the standard 20 round carton with applied label up through the start of WWII. By 1943, the rounds were shipped in the standard 50 round carton with nomenclature printed in black ink directly on the carton. Each “Buy It Now” single purchase is for 2 unassembled cartons with dividers and early war 20 round label. The cartons, dividers and labels will be shipped flat, with assembly instructions. I had a lot of these made, so if you want multiple sets, just change the purchase quantity before you click on the “Buy It Now” button. Check my feedback and buy with confidence. I prefer Paypal, and shipping is free within the U.S. I will ship internationally, but there will be extra shipping charges involved.
